Is Pinterest Still Worth The Hype?
When you talk to any other blogger, they will tell you that Pinterest generates tones of traffic to their website. The more traffic you get, the more money you make!
But Pinterest is an every changing social media and search engine that’s constantly evolving.
It seems that at least once a year Pinterest goes through a huge algorithm change.
When this happens, there are winners and losers. Some bloggers report increased traffic, while others see a major decrease.
It’s all about figuring how the algorithm and what Pinterest is favoring the most according to pins and topics.
So you may find yourself asking: Is Pinterest still worth all the trouble of creating pins and maintaining an active profile? ABSOLUTELY!
Pinterest is first and foremost a search engine. The better you know how to SEO for your pins the more likely you are to get them seen.
Bur because of the recent algorithm changes on Pinterest, many bloggers are seeing a decrease in traffic and are starting to wonder if Pinterest still carries the same amount of influence it once had.

How Do You Make Pinnable Pins?
Images or pins are everything on Pinterest! Pins tell a pinner what your content, brand, and products are about. They make memorable statements to pinners.
Create a pin or multiple that is repinned again and again, the website traffic will roll in.
Create unattractive pins and you’ll find yourself feeling defeated.
While I’m constantly changing the look of my pins to attract new pinners and increase engagement, there’s a few common factors that reign supreme with clickable (and potentially viral) pins.
Clickable pins that do well on Pinterest have the following characteristics:
Easy to read fonts: users are scrolling through their feed and need fonts that are bold and easy to read to catch their eye.
Contrasting colors: this is a big one! Black or colored text with white space behind them tend to do very well! I also use pins with white bold font on a black background for contrast, and those also do well. Anything to have a pinner stop scrolling.
Quality images: Pictures that are not blurry and not to dark. Stock photos also work just as well as your own pictures.
While these characters are important to have in every pin, its hard to maintain that quality consistently.
Even if you do, some pins will take off while others never get clicks.
Its a struggle to maintain these characteristics in every single pin you design for your brand. Above all else its time consuming!
I feel my own energy draining from my body every time I do a huge new bulk of pins for past articles.
